- Market Knowledge – With over 10 years of experience in the medical tourism industry I know what the going rate is for each procedure. When clinics and other agents see a foreigner, they see an opportunity to overcharge. Foreigners rarely know what is considered a good price for their procedures, so when clinics give them a price that is double that of the local price, they have no choice but to accept it.
- Special Relationships – Since birth, I have been surrounded by medical professionals. With a brother, sister, brother-in-law, cousin, and countless friends, making up some of Koreas’ most prestigious Doctors, I have unique access to Korea’s medical elite. This means I can often negotiate directly with the Doctors and bypass the sales staff to ensure you get the best price and care available.
- No Overhead Cost – A lot of the larger medical tourism agencies have flashy offices local and/or overseas, huge marketing/PR departments and countless contractors working for them. This is extremely expensive and is baked into the prices the charge you for the surgeries. I meanwhile am a one man team without any of this overhead. While I may not be able to afford advertisements on large international TV networks, it also means you are only paying the price of the procedure and nothing more.
- No Foreigner Pricing – In most clinics and hospitals (especially those that target foreigners), there are sales agents working directly for the clinic trying to persuade patients to choose them. These agents will receive a sales commission should the patient decide to have the surgery at their clinic.
When you use Anthony in Seoul, I will take you to see a range of clinics. Those that have this commission structure, will simply pay me the small commission instead of their sales agents.
Smaller clinics will often not have a commission structure in place and will charge all patients the same price. They will share small portion of their profits with me for assisting them with translation, aftercare and exposing them to a new market.
